BIOGRAPHY

Jean Feeney was born in York, and now lives in highland Perthshire. Jean’s love of art stems from childhood ; however, it wasn’t until much later in life that she became an active artist.

Jean is well known for her vibrant and colourful paintings of the West Coast of Scotland – a part of Scotland that she has loved since first visiting in 1990.

Jean’s trademark is her strong and bold colour and her energetic and sculptural use of paint. She cites her main influences as the Scottish colourists, the German expressionists and Van Gogh himself – for his love of yellow and use of thickly applied and textured paint.



“Each of my paintings is my celebration of the place, the people and of course the paint. My greatest wish is to convey to others the sheer joy I feel when I'm lucky enough to be inspired by the picture before me.”
