CLAIRE HARRIGAN RSW

BIOGRAPHY

Claire Harrigan was born in Kilmarnock in 1964, studying at Glasgow School of Art from 1982 – 1986 and graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Drawing and Painting). Since graduating, she has worked as a full-time painter and travelled around the world for inspiration – including West Indies, France, Portugal and Italy.

Her father is the acclaimed artist James Harrigan, who is also exhibited at The Lemond Gallery.

Claire was elected a Professional Member SAAC in 1989 and a member of The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) in 1992.

In 2007, Claire wrote and had published “Abstract and Colour Techniques in Painting”, which is a fitting title considering that her own paintings include vibrant colour and abstract elements.
